Women’s Health

Helping you take the “mess” out of feeling like a Hot Mess.

Why Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of healthcare that aims to get to the root cause of illness and stimulate the body’s inherent ability to heal. Naturopathic medicine is guided by research to tap into the power of nutrition, herbs, supplements, and lifestyle changes to support health and healing.

Naturopathic doctors are the only regulated health professionals in the integrative and functional medicine space in Ontario. Rather than trust your health to advice you found online or at the health food store, maybe it’s time to consider a better approach to healing.

Women face unique health challenges. Maybe you…

  • Struggle with problematic periods or PMS and wish there were options besides just taking a pill.

  • Feel overwhelmed by hormonal changes as you transition through perimenopause and don’t know what you can do to feel better.

  • Want to know if there are any options available besides the surgery you’ve been told is your only answer.

  • Have labs that look “normal” and have been told everything is fine, but you know something’s not right.

Maybe you feel dismissed by the conventional medical system and just wish somebody would listen to your experience and dig deep to figure out what could be the root cause.

Benefits of Naturopathic Medicine

Many women feel they need to accept hormonal changes as an inevitable fact of life. But the reality is that you CAN feel better! The average woman hits menopause at age 51 and lives to be 81. Don’t give up on your health when you still have so much of your life to live! With naturopathic medicine, you can:

  • Discover options you never knew existed
  • Get relief from unexplained symptoms
  • Resolve distressing health issues
  • Prioritize what’s most important for your health
  • Feel heard, understood, and supported
  • Get the guidance and accountability you need
  • Feel amazing in your body and mind

What to Expect

  1. Initial Consultation
You’ll be asked to complete an intake form and then meet with Dr. Kennedy for your initial appointment. The first appointment is 60 minutes so that we can be sure to get clarity on your goals. You’ll receive initial recommendations that may include lab testing, dietary adjustments, herbs, or supplements to address your most pressing concerns.

  2. Deeper Evaluation
Depending on your concerns and existing lab results, Dr. Kennedy may order additional tests to more deeply understand the root cause. These tests may evaluate hormonal balance, gut health, stress hormones, and more.

  3. Emotional Consideration
Trauma and emotional stressors can dramatically interfere with the body’s ability to heal. If appropriate, Dr. Kennedy will use a gentle and noninvasive approach called psychosomatic energetic (PSE) therapy to identify and clear subtle emotional obstacles to your progress.

  4. Ongoing Guidance
Follow-up appointments are generally scheduled approximately 3 weeks apart at first in order to modify your plan and get you momentum toward relief. The goal over time is to space out the visits for longer periods of time as you learn what your body needs and feel empowered with resources and tools to stay healthy.
